I've never fit neatly into anything. Least of all taglines.
I'm building a media company to find out.
25 years in business · £0 → £1M in public · books · media · art · fashion · experiences
For most of my life, the implication was that eventually I'd sort myself out.
I'd become more focused. Pick a lane. Stop changing my mind. Stop wanting to do everything. Become a little less much.
I don't think that's going to happen.
The Chaotic Empire is being built for the women who've heard the same things. Too scattered. Too impulsive. Too interested in too many things. The ones who watched Bridget Jones and felt a little too fucking seen.
I'm not building this from the other side, once I've finally cracked the code and become an organised person with a five-year plan.
I'm building it as her.
Order can come from chaos.
It doesn't have to come before it.
At 43, I started again on purpose.
I left the industries I'd spent two decades in, moved countries and took my income back to zero.
Because I wanted to know what I could build without abandoning myself to do it.
No contorting myself to follow the rules. No sanding myself down to be more understandable, palatable or conventional.
Now I'm building The Chaotic Empire from £0 → £1M, in public, without cleaning up the story afterwards.
Books. Media. Art. Fashion. Experiences. Whatever else the plot requires.
I don't know yet whether it'll work. That's why it's worth watching.
A media company built for a life with more plot. We make books, media, art, fashion and experiences about courage, curiosity, quitting, reinvention, human behaviour and living a life worth having stories about.

Sometimes that's a book.
Sometimes it's 30 days of doing things that scare you.
Sometimes it's a room full of strangers and a collaborative art project.
Sometimes it's travelling across the world for the plot.
There isn't one format, which is rather the point.
Welcome to the Empire.
Laugh-out-loud books for women who've spent years trying to fix, heal and change themselves, and are beginning to wonder if maybe they were never the fucking problem.

"You certainly have a gift for making the unseen, seen." Katrina Ruth
I take on a small number of private engagements with founders, creators and people doing interesting things with their lives.
You bring me the messy version.
The ideas that don't quite fit together. The decision you keep circling. The thing you say you want and the choices that seem to say something else. The public story and the private one. The half-formed idea you can't leave alone.
I interview you. I investigate. I pay attention to the things you say, the things you don't, and the contradictions between them.
I look for the gap.
Then I show you what you couldn't see from where you were standing.
I don't take every engagement. We start with a conversation. I'm looking for something I can't leave alone either.
"You're the best mum because you show us every single day what it looks like to chase your dreams. And that's very important. It's everything, really." My eldest son, aged 11
That's the part of this that matters more to me than the revenue number.
I'm pushing my chips in on the life I actually want, and my boys are watching me do it. They get to see the wrong turns, the failures, the ridiculous ideas and the moments when something actually fucking works.
I don't know where The Chaotic Empire takes us yet.
But they'll know their mum tried.
If you want to see what happens next, you're invited.
